Little Update

Current mood: chill
So yesterday we went to Brookstone Elementary which is a private school. This school seemed top notch! I wish we could've afforded to put Kaylie in there. It was huge, like a college campus and you have to walk outside to get to the different sections of the school!! Anyway, they were honoring Curt for being a wounded soldier. We don't know how he was picked for this but he was. We were treated like celebrities. The headmistress of the school walked us around and we were stopped every two seconds by someone wanting to hug us and say hello and thank you. Anyway we get to the auditorium finally and sit front row center. All the commanders from 3rd ID came. Two colonels and CSM Pearson and 1SG Moore. They read a little biography on Curt and then a 2nd grade class presented a huge basket full of goodies to us, and also a painting which was beautiful. A children's author was there and gave Kaylie a bunch of autographed books. It was nice.
As we exited and were talking to all the commanders. It was geeat, they all asked Curt what his plans are and told him if he needs anything to not hesitate to ask them. Any letters of recommendation or calls they need to make for him they will do in a heartbeat. It was so nice of them. I remmeber CSM Pearson from Walter Reed, he came and visted us while he was on R&R. He said when Curt goes thru his Med Board or MMRB give him a heads up and he will make sure he gets what he wants. Thats great and I'm glad they were so sincere. CSM checks up on Curt sometimes. I'm glad he is such a great guy!
Anyway, Curt's doc appt today was stupid of course. Just when we finally get there he has to set up a CT scan. And then they will see what they can do about removing the metal. Then he will have his total knee replacement done at Bethesda. He asked about why his knee is getting worse. The doc said of course it is, basically his knee is fucked! lol So it was kinda a waste of time, and now he's sitting at the hospital in the lobby since he had to check out of his room until its time to go to the airport.hahaha poor guy!
We also got to pre-lease in the new housing on Fort Belvoir. The only thing that sucks is that the house is not ready until March 9th. So it looks like Curt will be going up there alone for awhile and just stay in the barracks. Then hopefully me and Kaylie can leave March 1st. I don't want to pay pro-rated rent here at our apartment so I want to turn in the keys on the 1st. Hopefully we can work this out with transportation as well to come the last week of Feb or something. We'll see! But so far things are looking up...now heres to praying things go as smoothly as they possibly can :)
