Disney World

Thursday, May 08, 2008

So we left for Disney World last Saturday. The trip is not long at all. Only six hours. We stayed the night that night in Kissimmee at a cheap ass roach motel. Seriously. Curt would not spend more than 50 on a hotel, so yeah, you get what you pay for. I couldn't WAIT to leave in the morning haha. Good thing it was only about 5 miles from Disney World.

We arrive at our Disney resort about 8 to check in. We pre check in and the lady hands us "1st time" pins and tells us to wear them because you "never know what could happen" with a wink. So off we go to the Magic Kingdom. To get from our resort to the parks the only mode of transportation is a bus. So we all pile on a bus and take the 15 minute ride to the park. Kaylie was amazed at the castle. We rode just about every ride that day. It was the perfect time of the year to go, not too crowded and not too slow. We never waited more than 20 minutes to ride anything. Plus they do fastpass which is so nice. You slide your card in and it gives you ticket to come back at a certain time. We used that alot. And when we were waiting for our lunch reservation at the Crystal Palace (character meal with Winne the Pooh and friends) we were asked to be the grand marshalls in the parade. Too bad we couldn't because of our lunch. That would have been awesome. We were handed fast passes to rides too all day (thanks to the lady for saying to wear the buttons haha)

Kaylie was pretty much scared of everything. She was terrified to ride anything without coaxing and bribes. hehe. We did get her to go on Splash Mountain and a couple roller coasters though. The Magic Kingdom was open till 2am that night for extra magic hours, only available to resort guests. Of course we didn't stay that late. We left about 11. And we all fell right to sleep.

The day we went to Epcot we had reservations for the Akershus Royal Princess meal. Kaylie LOVED it, she was on cloud nine getting to meet all those princesses. Belle, Cinderella, Ariel, Jasmine, and Alice in Wonderland. It was in the Norway pavilion at the World Showcase so they served Norwegian food which curt and kaylie did NOT like too much haha, I thought it was alright. I had to get french pastries as well in the French Pavilion. They were delish. We wented a wheelchair on Epcot day for curt. Which was a good idea. Wow, that was a lot of walking!!!! I was pooped at the end of the day. Epcot is huge.

We stayed at the All Star Movie Resort and had a Fantasia themed building. Every building is themed to a different disney movie. Pretty damn cool for the kids. The pool is awesome too. We also did the Deluxe Dining plan which was a pretty damn good idea too. When we got our package we paid for all of our meals in advance too. So we got breakfast, lunch, dinner, and two snacks every day. It was great to have that paid for. So we only spent cash wise about 200 on souvenirs and such. I recommend anyone planning a trip get the Dining plan.

All in all the trip was fun. Disney is nothing like six flags so those looking for thrills (as I was) will be disappointed. Nothing made me go "wow" at Disney. Even Mission Space which everyone was talking about and two people have died on it-I was like really that was lame!! haha Guess I'm just used to the big bad roller coasters at Six Flags: Shrugs.

Disney is a great place to take the kids though. Definatley more for the kids :0)

but well worth the time and planning to go . I can't wait to go again sometime!!
